Shocks or lvl kit?

I was wondering if anybody had any info on which would be better? A lvl kit or Bilstein shocks? I wanna fit some 35/12.5 on my stock 18's.

well the shocks will cost you a lot more money as compared to a leveling kit. the as kit is only like 95 bucks. i put the 2" kit on and 315/70/17 bfgatko's on no problem. just depends on how much you want to spend.

I agree. The Bilstiens are a much better shock than the OEM shocks, but they cost a lot. As far as increasing the ball joint/CV joint angles, they will be the same with the leveling kits and the Bilstiens.

Thanks guys, i think i'll go with the lvl kit? I want to inst 325/65/18's on my stock wheels on my 06 screw. Should there be any problems? Is the 325's/65's the same as 35x12.5? Would you go with 2" or 2.5? I was gonna go with autosprings kit too, seems what most people are getting.

A 325/65-18 is essentially a 35x13.00-18 tire, which is a little too wide for the OEM wheels but a few members here are running that combo with no problems so far. Do you plan on upgrading to an aftermarket wheel in the future? If you are, a 325/65-18 won't fit with a wider aftermarket wheel and just a leveling kit. You gotta look at the big picture.

I don't plan on putting on aftermarket wheels. For once i actually like the chrome wheels that came with my truck. I'm still in the process of checking out tires.

i would also stick with the 35/12.5/18. i fit 35's on my 05 fx4 on the stock 17" rim with the 2" AS kit. as for the 2.5" kit i think that may put a little too much angle on the cv's. especially the boots.

screwxtr i am running 315/70/17 on the stock rims. roughly 35/12.5/17. i have no rubbing issues at all. i will try and post a pic. no i do know that having and 18" rim your tire choices will be limited. i know for a fact you can get the bfg mud terrrain in a 35/12.5/18. you will just have to go to the tire manufactures web site and find the specs.

I would look at the BFG 305x65x18 AT's this is close to 34" tall and I think they are perfect for a leveled truck, but they ain't cheap!

does anyone else agree and say that 2.5" AS leveling kit is bad on the cv's?? i want a 2 or 2.5 but not sure what to go with. i also want to run some bigger tires but not sure how wide i can go without rubbing... i have 20" x 8.5" rims and want to run some 35's or somewhere in that ball park..any ideas
