Leveling kit (Again)

I'm new on the board and have been looking through archives to find my situation. Didn't see it. I have a 4x2 2006 Screw XLT. I just installed a 2" leveling kit I got off ebay for about $85. I was about 2.5" higher in the back before I installed it. Now I am 1" lower in the back. It isn't noticeable to anyone else but it's bothering me. Has anyone else had this problem and would appreciate any suggestions you could give me. Also while going through the archives noticed a few problems people are having with the 2.5" kit. Anyone having problems with the 2" kit ? Probably wouldn't have installed it if I would have found this site earlier. Thanks

Just install a lift block in back to achieve the height you want.

I have exactly the same truck as you and installed a 2.5" leveling kit on mine with absolutely no problems and I don't really notice any differences between the front and the rear. There's no way that you should be 1" lower in the rear if you started out 2.5" higher and only added a 2" kit to the front, not to say you aren't, but I just don't understand how that's even possible.

As wandell said though, go with a lift block or an AAL to give you the desired height.

He could have the big gas tank 35.7gallon that can cause the rearend to be lower.

Another possibility is fatigued springs in back - depends on how hard he works the truck. Tool box, almost anything heavy out back would help tip her back.

I don't have the big gas tank , and I haven't even used it for anything yet, only had it for 2 months.I don't understand it either. The only thing I can figure is maybe Its like a see saw effect. Was hoping one of you had this happen.

Exclamation

That is very odd.

I have a 2006 F150 4x2 XLT Supercrew. I instaled an Autospring 2.5" level kit and after installation, I am still 5/8" higher in the back.

Like the other poster said, I don't doubt you, but I don't know how it's possible.

Did you get an alignment? That should bring it down. Also when I installed my 2.5" AS, I ended up getting 3" out of it. Yes, this is after alignment. I've read that a lot of people are getting 1/2 inch more than advertised.. Truck specific I guess.

I got about 1/4" more on mine, I had a 2" kit but had about 2.25" lift up front, and it was sitting perfectly level, even dough when I measured it, it should have been sitting 1/2" Higher in the back...I think the weight transfer and maybe fatigue stole that 1/2" I was expecting in the back.
So I went to an AAL and Now its like I wanted it(well 1.5" higher in the back), drives better and I can carry my 4-Wheeler without blinding oncoming traffic.

2" Daystar

I added a 2" Daystar at Pungo Off Road yesterday - when it all said and I'm still 1/2 in lower in the front - after the alignment the front came up another 1/2 in. Looks perfectly level tried hooking up the 20' boat and no change was noted. All they installed it for $150 and took less then an hr to do.

I dig that set up! So are you happy with your 2.5 AS and skyjacker add a leaf? Is it what you expected, also hows the ride? Looks pretty good to me, but I dont know what your truck looked like stock.

Let me know, I'm wanting to raise mine up a bit so that 35's mite fit in

Thanks, Yes I love the set up that I have now, I think I need bigger tires though. Sometimes they look kinda small under there, they are 285/70/17's.
The ride is great, The AAL didn't change it too much, and the AS will retain your factory ride.
Heres a pic of it stock:

Awesome, yeah I like that! It could use bigger tires, but it looks sweet with or without them, just depends if your bored and have some extra cheddah haha.

I'm either doing the exact set up you have, and jack up the torsion bars a smidgen. Or just getting a 3in body lift and gap guards, keeping the factory ride, also messin with the torsion bars a tiny bit and slappin some 35x12.50's on'er. I haven't decided yet. Not sure which I'll like better. I really like wandell's set up too. hmmmmmm decisions decisions
