Just some last minute questions.

I just ordered a 2" lift coil for my 97 f150 2wd and just had a couple of questions before I get it installed next week. I was given a pair of aal's from a fellow f150 owner that bought them, but just never got around to getting them installed. I don't know what size they are but I measured at the center and came out with 2 1/4", so I'm guessing with some compression they are 2" aal's, or are they less? The reason i'm getting the lift is I eventually plan on getting some 285/60/18 tires and wanted the extra clearance for them to fit. My next question is, when I'm getting the coils installed could I also get him to install a set of daystar coil spacers? If it is possible, then I'm guessing that my front would be a little bit higher then my back and I know that they make 4" aal's i'm just not sure where to buy them. Do you think that I could just get away with the aal's I have now and it will look alright? I know it would have been easier to just buy a 6" lift but I was going for the least expensive route and if I can't use the spacers then I just save myself 90 bucks and still get the lift I need. Any help would be awesome guys and thanks. I'll make sure to get some pictures up as soon as I can.

You can only lift the front of a 97-03 4x2 two inches using lift coils or spacers before you need new longer upper control arms to get the alignment within specs. I'd stick with the lift coils. I'd also go ahead and have a set of camber bolts installed. A lot of 4x2's need them to get the alignment withing specs after the installation of lift coils or spacers. As for the add-a-leaf, I'm not sure.

Hey wandell thanks for the quick reply. What are camber bolts and where can I get them. Oh yeah and if later on I decided to get longer control arms, Then could I throw on a spacer. Also I love the look and stance of your truck. Hopefully I'll be able to add a 3" body lift soon and with the new tires my truck should be farely close to the height of yours correct?

Camber bolts are bolts with adjustment cams on the end that replace your upper control arm bolts. You can get them at most parts stores for around $40. I'd install lift spindles before I started worrying with new upper control arms.

O.k so I was going to install my lift coils and aal's tomorrow but now i've kinda had a change of plans . I'm going to be going with some 33" tall tires and I want a little more lift. I was going to get a 3" body lift but I'd rather have the suspension so I have the option of running a bull bar/ brushguard later on. Now my only question is, if I get some 3.5" spindles, new shocks and lift blocks, do I need new uppercontrol arms? I can get the spindles, blocks, u-bolts and shocks for $380 but if I have to shell out another 350 for upper control arms its not worth it. So can I combine the 2" coils and 3.5" spindles without new control arms? Please let the answer be yes

Yes you can do that. I've been checking it out because I will be doing the same thing soon. If you do that I'd like to see some pics.

Forgot to add that it is recommended that you get the camber bolts. If not the tires will wear out quick.

I agree. You can combine the two without any problems. You may need camber bolts as he said, so you might as well do it while you have everything apart.
