am i getting ripped???on level kit

ive been tryin to buy a leveling kit for my reg cab f-150. i called a shop and the price for any kit to be put in is $275 out the door...is this a reasonable price or is it better to order one myself and get somone to install it. i talked to the person at firestone here in town and they said that they would put one one for cheap i believe

Well you can get a leveling kit off of ebay for around $100. They shouldn't charge anymore than 2 hours for the labor.

I paid $175.00 for just the leveling kit and wish now I searched into it more. But I'm going to the local hobby shop to do the labor myself. There are directions on this forum with step by step instructions.

You figure it is about $90.00 for the kit and shipping. I have heard as low as $150 to get it installed and then another $60 for a alignment. If you have the tools and some jack stands do it your self. It really is not that hard at all.

Shop around for the best deal possible. I paid $80 for my AS 2.5" kit and then another $175 to have it installed and aligned so I was right around the price you are being quoted. If you can order the kit yourself and then either install it or find a place to install/align it cheaper then go for it.

I bought an AS 2 1/2 from ebay a few months ago. All I did was open the box but then decided to go with a suspension lift. I think I paid $80 for it. If you're interested, I'll check the paperwork when I get home and we can go from there.

I paid $50 for my coil spacer and I got a billet 3rd brake light cover for free with it..then I paid $150 to get it installed.. the front end is still a little lower than I like.. I've also got a 3" BL with 285's..
