Question 6" Fabtech, with 4" blocks??

Ok I was reading the instalation kit for the 6" Fabtech for the 97-03 f150 4x4. I have a 98, the kit says it comes with 4" blocks in the 2nd box. Ok so I figured they were for the rear. So is the rear going to be sitting 2" lower than the front? I need the full 6" to fit the 38's im going to be running. Also one other question with the 6 SL and 3 BL, im going to be running 38x15.50x18 and 18x10 eagle 064 series rims, what kind of offset will i need to run so these tires will clear. I know I need a little but exactly how much?

from what i understand the 6" lift is supposed to bring the front and back level to each other so you dont have the factory rake. either that or you stack the 4" blocks on the 2" factorys

because of the factory rake, the kits are made for the truck to sit level, the front is a 6" the rear is a 4" because the front sits about 2" lower that the rear from the factory, if you want the full 6" in the rear you can get an AAL.

38s are gonna be a tight fit even with the body lift because there are people on this forum that have a 8" lift with 37s that have rubbing issues.

So you dont think 38's are gonna work? also do the make a AAL for a 1998 f150 4x4? Also stacking the stock 2" blocks and the 4" blocks, how safe is that??

Also what exactly is an AAL?

You need to remember your kit is actually a 4-6" kit and to get a true 6" you'll have to crank the torsion bars bolts up. Double stacking is not advised so your best bet would be to get a 5.5" tapered block and then maybe an add a leaf depending on look afterwards. You can also put 2" torsion keys on the front for an additional 2" but I would not crank those up and then you'd have a solid 7" front. However, I do not advise this but know many people who do it.

i wouldnt stack blocks, while some do its not the safest practice. as for the AAL check pro comp, skyjacker, and deaver, and i rub alittle with 37's but im not sure about clearence with on the older style 150's.

Go with the 5.5" tapered blocks and decide after those are installed. It really depends on how you want the truck to look

you can safely stack two blocks if they both have correct male/female alignment pins in them.

I've got a friend with that year body-style. 6" Fabtech + 3" body + torsions cranked slighty sitting on 38 Boggers!

Several people have run 38x15.50's with a 6 inch Fabtech and a 3 inch body lift, but it is a very tight fit. Also, you want a wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing, which is pretty much standard for 97-03 aftermarket wheels.

Quick Reply: 6" Fabtech, with 4" blocks??
