i just got my 33's in and they rub . i know that a leveling kit will solve that, but i was wondering if anyone has installed one themselves and how easy is it? any good diagrams on installation? thanks.

I recommend the 2 inch kit for the 2wd. The 2-1/2 inch kit will give you a pre-runner(nose high) look. The 07 F-150 strut is no different than the 04-06 F-150 strut. Nothing else is required to install our kit, other than tools and a six pack of your favorite beverage.

I'd think that as long as your menchanically inclined, it'd be worth a shot. But if it was me, I'd spend the dough to get someone else to do it.

The Autospring leveling kit is very easy to install as long as you have the large socket for the bottom strut bolt. I can't remember the size 30 something mm. It took me a total of about 1 1/2 hours to put mine on, but that is using air tools to get the tires off and remove the bottom strut bolt. It shouldn't take much longer than that with regular hand tools. I have an '06 Screw 4x4 and I installed the 2" AS kit and it looks just right. I don't think I would have wanted the 2.5" kit, it would have looked nose high then to me.

An Autospring leveling kit is going to be a little tough to put on a 97, different front end type. You just need to crank up your torsion bars a little, worked like a champ on my 98.

 

What is the exact size of your wheels and tire? Usually, there is rubbing on the front bumper's lower valance which is easily trimmed.

 

Oops, my mistake. I guess I need to read a little better. I didn't notice that it was a '97.
