Question 6 in Lift + leveling kit?

I have a 05 f 150 with a 6 in fabtech and I was wanting to know if I could add one of those leveling kits to get a little more clearance? also what are the pros and cons of the leveling kits and what heights do they come in and which brand is the best. THANKS

yes you can do that, autospring makes the best leveling kits IMO, and it will give you the addiional lift, the only bad part is it screws with your angles in the front, i mean it shouldnt brake anything there are a few people on here with that setup and no problems at all!

ya some others will chime in here im sure but it just puts your front shafts at a steeper angle thats not "ideal" but still ok

i've heard it's more of the upper ball joint and upper control arm angle, especially with the 2 1/2 inch spacer.

i'm sure others with this setup with comment!!!!

o ok your talking about drive shafts well yeah it shouldnt be any differnt than having a 8in lift unless your lift has something to make up for the difference in not real sure how that works on the idependent suspension i know i can just shim the rear but im not real sure what they do on the fronts but surely the extra 2 in would hurt it too bad.

well like my 8" kit has a bigger drop on the crossmember to lower the front diff. those extra couple inches. but like i said many people have that setup and are fine.

ok I see what your saying since yours is a true 8 in lift it just drops the cross member down to acomidate it i guess the leveling kit will be adding the 2.5 inches of highth to the spring with nothing to correct the other stuff well maybe someone that has done this will give me some input thanks for your help though IM going bigger even if i have to do a body lift i wanna run atleat 38's or maybe 39.5's

i've got the 2.5" Autospring kit and love it...super easy to install and drastic (and extremely cheap) way to get that rake gone....

it does slightly change your upper ball joint angle (but nothing to seriously worry about) and maybe a slight CV angle diff., but nothing that I could see. The install took like an hour to do both sides so do it yourself, but make sure you've got the 30 mm socket that they require cause you're gonna need it.

I've got the 305/65/18 BFG A/T's and love 'em cause they fit....

Post hey

Hey buddy nice truck!! Hey I talked to the 4wd tech and he told me that they couldn't stack the leveling kit with a 6inch lift, is this right.. Also im buying my lift and tires first because the rims i want are 2500 so they will come later.. Can you tell me what else i need to buy other than the lift like to make the truck level front to back.....Im thinking procomp lift or fabtech and tires 35-1250-18 nitto mud tires.... I have a ford fx4 2004 with the leveling kit on... If you have time could you tell me what you think.. thanks

you will need to get about 3" AAL in rear if you want the leveling kit up front, you can only use the level kit on a fabtech or stage 2 procomp. stage 1 procomp comes with blocks up front, so you cant stack the two. I would say go fabtech with the leveling kit, not a problem. i mean yes your angles are a little off but not horrible. i am running it fine for 4 months!

Those pictures are really helpful thanks alot but i got one question Is you ball joint boot ripped? From the picture it kinda looked like it had some grease on the outside of the boot or something Just wondering if so was it caused by the angle? by the way good looking truck
