Which is the best deal?
Which is the best deal?
I am looking at a 6" Fabtech lift and trying to decide which one to go with. My truck is a 2WD and will never be taken offroad, I am doing this strictly to improve the appearance of my truck.
I am looking at the 6" basic crossmember system with performance shocks and can get it for $1239.99 with free shipping. I could get the same system with Dirt Logic shocks for $1560.57
The 6" performance crossmember system with Dirt Logic 2.5" coilovers and performance shocks is $1729.99
Price does matter somewhat, but I also want to be sure I am getting a good deal from the standpoint that this is going to last.
Thanks

i would say go with the coilover system..... they are completly adjustable and they look awsome, and i think you can adjust them to give you another inch or so of lift.... but if you dont want to spend that much just go with the basic kit you dont really need the dirtlogic shocks unless you off road alot, and even then i dont think is that big of a deal.
But...
Just my thoughts. If you are truly not going to use it off road, jumping dunes, racing, etc... why pay extra for the Dirt Logic coilovers? Don't get me wrong I would love to have them but I though about the same thing. I really wouldn’t every use my truck for that and used the extra money on other mods (the wife
).
Are you planning on doing the install?

Unfortunately I don't have the ability, time or tools to do the install myself. I went to the local shop yesterday and got a quote if I were to do everything through them. To get the kit (although she didn't mention which Fabtech kit), do the install, get the new wheels (Helo Maxx 6 chrome) and new tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers 325/65r18) she said it would be $5078.33
I did the online shopping and if I just get the 6" Basic Crossmember system with performance shocks and order my rims and tires I can take everything to the shop and they will do the install for $700. If I order everything and take it there with install I came up with about $4100.
I have the money to it either way. I will most likely do the ordering myself and just take everything there for them to install because the price of the kit she quoted me yesterday was $1800 and I'm sure that was the 6" basic crossmember with just their huge markup. I have the money to do either of the kits, I just want the best bang for my money, looks do play a part in my decision though so if the performance cross member system makes that big of a deal looks wise I may go that way. However, if I can save $500 for other mods (i.e. tinting, lights for the bull bar, superchip) I would rather go that way. I appreciate everyone's input and respect the opinions of the member's here that's why I'm asking.

Another quick question.
The wheels I am going with come in either a 4.5" back spacing or 5.75" backspacing. To fit my truck I should probably go with the 5.75" correct? Again I am going with the Helo Maxx 6 and a 325/65r18 Nitto Terra Grapler tire. Thanks again.

It all depends on if you want the wheels to stick out pass the fenders. I went with the 4.75" BS becasue I love the wide wheel look, a lot of people don't. Either way it will look great.

There's a shop in Gulfport where I am looking at getting the work done. I don't know of any other shops around me, but will take a look.
I can't wait to get it done, but I know it won't be untill mid March before I actually get it all done. Have to save up a little more cash before I can order everything. Really looking forward to it.
