Affordable lift kit?

I am looking to get some more height out of my 2004 F150 4x4. Unfortunately I am also a college student and can't afford a grand for a full kit. I was wondering if there were any kits out there that are cheap and safe that might get me at least a little more height without replacing most of the suspension.

Have you considered a body lift? You can get those online for about $310. If you combine that with a $100 2.5" spacer you have got yourself 5.5" of lift for $400, minus labor of course.

Yes, it's going to be a levling spacer on top of your coil-over. Like AutoSpring.

I agree the body lift or leveling spacer is going to be the "cheapest" route. The labor to install a body on a 04-06 model seems be around $400-$500+. It's real easy to install the spacer and you can get a 2 1/2 spacer for less then $100. The cheapest suspension lift right now is the pro comp for around a $1000, just for the kit.

I agree. Body lifts are a great value, if you can install it yourself.

How hard is it to do a body lift yourself? Can it be done with basic tools and a freinds help to lift parts?

Well, from what everyone says installing a body lift of the newer body style F-150's is a pain in the ***. But there are some here who have done this themselves. Look at the instructions on performanceaccessories.com. It looks pretty intense but it all depends on just how mechanically inclined you are.
