Lift or Lower?

I just purchased a new F-150 Lariat SuperCrew FX2. I am interested in buying a leveling kit that raises the front end 2.5 inches but I am not buying new rims and tires. So I would like your opinion on the look that this will provide with my stock 18in rims and tires. I haven't run across any pics of just a 2 inch lift in the front with stock rims and tires so it's hard to judge how it will look. Or if that will give me too much wheel well action should I just lower the rear end to give a level appearance? I feel the lift will make it look a little more beefy but don't want to make it look disproportionate to the tires. Could you give your opinions and maybe a picture or two if you know where I can see the difference?

Thanks for your help,
Rick

Definitely lift it. 2 in. in the front would look good with the stock tires and wheels.

Here is my 2" lift from CCM Off-road... I am currently looking for feedback about this brand as it has a built in offset to eliminate contact between upper control arm and spring. Lots of post here about Auto Spring kit but I went with the kit with the offset. Just installed last weekend and had front end re-aligned yesterday.

I'd go with the Autospring kit.

what about lowering the rear 2"
theres a member on here that used shackles to lower his rear 2"
& personally i think that would look better on a FX2
what color did you get?

You could do either. You just need to decide on the "look" you want, off road (lift the front and use all terrian tires on 17 to 20 inch wheels) or street (lower the rear and mount street tires on 20 to 24 inch wheels).

Definitely!!! Check out my gallery...my truck is lowered 2" in rear...In my opinion, FX2s are sport trucks...FX4s are 4X4s that should be lifted...

Lower the rear. I had a 2" AS spacer and I ended up taking it off and putting on 2" GF drop shackles. I have pics in my gallery.

I have a two toned Oxford White on Tan Lariat. This weekend I put on 4" chrome nerf bars, color keyed tonneau cover, and a DVD player. I didn't order the lift because I am still going back and forth on the look. I will most likely not buy bigger rims and tires until these wear out so I am liking the idea of lowering the rear two inches until then.

THanks

Yeah, I can see the logic there. I am looking for your gallery but having some difficulty being a newbie on this forum. When I click on GerRod and I see your truck information but no pics. Is there another level of membership that I have to have to see your gallery?

Ok, I figured it out. Yeah, your truck looks great with the lowered rear end. I am not sure if it's just the picture but is your rear end now lower than the front end? Regardless it looks great. I added just a pic from my phone of my truck. I added the nerf bars, DVD player, and bed cover. Looking forward to more mods.

Thanks for the before and after. This is the way I'll go. Does the shackle drop effect the load or ride?
