HEEELLP! 4WD won't work!
hey fellow f-150er's,
I just got myself an 05 FX4 about a month ago. I live in Minnesota and we finally just received our first snowfall which called for the 4wd to be put into action. Excited to start blowing by all those 2wd cars on the way home from work, I turned it on. It made the normal clunks, so I figured it was engaged, but low and behold, my assend was the only part spinning. The 4HI light was on, and I could feel the drag of the extra resistance on the motor so I know the transfer case was engaged and the front shaft was spinning. I could also hear the faint whining sound 4WD makes at low speeds. I'm assuming my front hubs just arrn't locking. Has anyone had this happen to their current generation f-150? I only have 26,000 miles on it so it's still warranteed, I just want to know what's actually wrong with it, not what the dealer will tell me is wrong.
