Lift options

Hello -

If I am looking to lift my front end 2-3 inches are my only options the spacers (ie Daystar and AS) or a full suspension lift? I put heavy duty leveling coils on my old 1995 F-150 and that leveled it out for me. Can I do that with my 2006 FX4 or is it not an option? Or how about larger shocks? I don't do any off-roading and I just want it for looks and to fit 33's on aftermarket rims. Basically I don't want to spend $1,500 to do this but I am willing to spend more than the $100 for the AS spacers if there is another option.

So is there anything else that is better than the spacers but less than a full suspension lift?

Thanks!

Rancho, Fabtech and Bilstien offer aftermarket coilover shocks that feature adjustable spring preload that will allow you to lift the front of your truck up to 2.5 inches.

wandell,

which is better for not messing up the stock angles and all of the F150 the spacer, adjustable leveling shocks or lifts? I'm in the same boat as this guy I just want the level look and to fit 33s without rubbing.

Thanks

wandell - same question as hillbilly. are the coilover shocks any easier on the ball joints if you preload them up to 2.5inches or does it put the arms at the same extreme angle as the 2.5 spacer does? thanks

The shocks and spacers do the same thing and cause the same angles on the CV and ball joints. Personally, with a new truck, I'd install a 2 inch Autospring spacer since you know the shocks are not worn out.

wandell - would the coilover shocks get around the problem the guy in the other post was having?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------i installed the kit the other day, and we had noticed how close the control arm sat to the coil when the truck was on the ground with the stock wheel/tire setup.. but when the truck was off the ground, the whole Aframe and control arm drops, causing it to acutally hit or rub the coil.

I'm not sure. I know Autospring redesigned their kit to be offset slightly to eliminated that problem. I don't think it was hurting anything but hearing a "clunk" on a new truck can be annoying.
