Ready to Order I think!!

Ok ive made my decision for the lift. Im going with the 6" Fabtech lift. I already have a 3" BL, so im going to go with 37's not sure which is the best brand, looking for a aggressive tire but good on the road. I really like the Ntto Muds but not sure. Rims are a little harder to decide on, thinking about the Motto Metals 950 but uncertin on the size, also i know nothing about needing an offset. Any info would be appreciated. If anyone knows of the cheapest place to look for lifts, tires and rims or combos please let me know. Thank You all and sorry for the long winded post.

Heath

Hmmmm...

Not that I have either but I have done a ton of reading here and overall the Nitto Mudder seems to get a thumbs down for road manners due to noise, and longevity.

The Toyo MT, and New mickey Thompson seem to be getting good reviews. The Mickey Thompson tire looks Very good......

As for rims I like the ones you mentioned a ton. Moto Metal is looking very good these days and a lot of hot trucks are running them right now.

The underground brand I love the most though is Martin Brothers.

Congrats,

I'm envious.

I think Moto Metal only make 20 inch wheels in the 5x135mm bolt pattern. Also, as far as tires, Toyo MT's are probably your best bet.

10in wide rim would be your best bet....it will give you the most options in the future if you want a fatter tire... and it will be fine with the 13.5 you're planning on running...

if you go look at the specs on the tires, the manufacturers will state the acceptable rim widths for that specific tire size....

and tires are really a personal preferance......are you going to be doing any type offroading in a specific terrain you want good perormance in? if not, go with what your looking for in looks, road manners, etc... and buget can afford

and not to confuse you, but you can look at a 38 as well

You really think I could fit 38's I was wanting to go bigger but wasnt sure if they would fit with only 6 SL and 3 BL. Ok if I went that route for a good look how wide of a tire should i run? Just asking what would look good, i dont them to look to wide or not wide enough, you know. Also I didnt know if running 38's would mean i need to change gears, i really dont want to. Also what kind of off sets are best?

I'm personally tossin up either scrapping my whole suspension set up right now...which is 6in pro comp w/ 3 body lift...and going with a 12in or so setup....or staying with what i have and getting larger tires.... If i stay where I'm at I'm going to upgrade my 36in iroks to a 38 or 38.5 in tire....

you will fit it for sure....don't know how much you're on here but there are people running 37's and 36's with JUST a 6in lift.......If you go over the 38.5 you will need to regear, but there are plenty on this sight running 38's with stock gearing...

I also have moto metal 20's....but am unhappy now with how wide my current tires are 13,5....I think when I added on body lift, they started looking skinny....i woul personally go with a 14.5 or 15.5...all your preferance though, I'll look a pic and post a couple where you can see the width on the truck.....

Personally i like these tires and have heard great things about em...supposed to be very quite on the road and great offroad too...Nice price as well...I've also seen them in person and they are a great looking product

As for wheels, I'd suggest a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing, which is pretty much standard.

38x15.50's will be a tight fit with 9 inches of lift, but it can be done. Several members at FTW have that size. The Kumho's seem to be getting good reviews so far.

So do you think that 37's would be a better decision? I don want the tires to look to big for the truck, or to small. Which do you think would be better? Is there going to be alot of trimming if i try 38's?

you'll be able to find pictures on either this sight or FTW of both sizes on a comparable truck....

I don't think there is really a "better" it's much more personal opinion.... I've seen them in person and I don't think the 38 looks to big and that is what I would go with hands down...

you may find others to say 37...i have no idea... 38's you will have to do a little trimming but i wouldn't take it as far to say as you're going to have to MAJORLY alter everything...

there wouldn't be a bunch of people running with 38's if there were MAJOR drawbacks....it's far from an oddball to see trucks equiped as afformentioned..

try to find some pics

Both sizes will look great. Like I said the 38x15.50's are a tight fit. If you do a good bit of offroading, I'd go with something slightly smaller. I have seen 37x12.50's on a truck with 9 inches of lift and they looked a little small. I'd go with at least a 37x13.50 tire.
