Fitting 37's with just 6in Procomp?

I have a 6in procomp and 3in BL, I was originally going to use both of these to fit 37's, but lately I have been thinking about using just the 6in, or maybe get a 1.5in spacer. What do you all think? Would the 1.5in spacer be bad too bad of angles? Does anyone make a 1in spacer?

I'd stick with using the 3" body IMO.

I agree. Bigger is better. However, you could probably fit a 37x12.50 with the 6 inch Fabtech with the right wheel.

thumper i like ur truck alot man, i was woundering, if i went with the 8" rize and a 3" body what do you guys think the biggest tire i culd throw under my truck. I was told with the 6 and 3 i culd fit a 37 easily but he said 35 with the 6" this was at 4 wheel parts. Thumper did u install the 8" or have a shop do it for you, j/w how the install goes if u did it yourself. Im debating on wether to go with the 6 or 8.

If your going with rize 6in or 8in, you should definitely get the 8in, I think its the same price.

How would 38's look under 9in lift? Would they fit? Would there be a downside to running 38's instead of 37's? I just dont want the lift to look like its too much for the tires.

And what tires would this be? I was considering using the stock wheels and trying to cram 37s in there with a 6" fabtech lift. Also, how far would the wheel stick out (37x12.5)?

As far as your tire sticking out it would depend on the backsapcing of your wheel. if your stock backspacing is 5.25 inches and you buy a wheel with 5 inches of back spacing your wheel would stick out about .25 of an inch. correct me if im wrong Wandell.

I am planning on sticking with the stock 18x7.5. What is that, 5.5" of backspace?

I can't believe 4 wheel parts even told you that....when the subject of a 6in +body lift came up with me they told me don't do it..we want nothing to do with it, and gave me the impression i would be driving a Death Machine .. but whatever, I guess they are protecting themselves...

Kalebarellano....... Just a couple things to think about...for starters, you know I'm dying to bigger tires so I've put in the research...Currently i sit with my 6in pro comp coil over and body lift on 36's......Pat has his 38's on an 8in lift and gets rubbing, even with trimming i think..(granted his are 15.5 wide)... So with an extra inch, you should be ok, or at worst, you'd get a very small rub, full torqued wheel while hitting a bump......When my truck was initially lifted, I had no body lift on it and was sitting with my 36x13.5x20 iroks just fine....I only had a very slight rub on a full torqued wheel hitting a bump. I didn't even trim anything, it was that minimal. So at least for me, If i don't go a re-do all my suspension and just stick with what i have.. I will probably go with a 38 or 38.5in wheel...I gained 3inches of height vs my first lift and I'm only increasing tire size by 2 inches...so I don't see as how i could have ANY rubbing, even offroad. I'd even go as far to say..I may be able to fit my 39.5 IROKS underneath me with some trimming, as that's only half an inch more tire under me than my intial lift.

So the long short of it...If your going with 6in +3, Iwould personally go no smaller than 38 or the 38.5's(maybe ideal)....if you're just doing the 6in now and maybe upgrade later...go for some 36's...They looked good with the initial lift, and even when raised up now another 3in's, they don't look retarded, and then you won't feel pressed to upgrade the tires immediately.

and remeber, infantryscum is running the pro comp with the spacer and a body lift, he just did that a month ago maybe but he goes offroading, so you may want to check in with him about how he's holding up regarding the possible spacer add you want to do...(or you could just crank the coil overs as I have)

first pic is of me with no body lift on the 36's....second is me now....

btw if you go offroading and end up with IROKS, the are awesome!!

Hope this helps!!!

Xopis, I think a 37x12.50 would fit with the OEM wheels or something very close to their specs.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

Hotstang, are your coilovers cranked? AAL? Hows your truck ride with the susp. and body lift. A friend of mine has the iroks and he his pretty happy with them too, and they look killer.

Do you think the 38's would be rub too much offroad? What about stressing out the IFS? I guess one extra inch wont be too bad. Could a 38x14.5 or 38x15.5 fit around a 17x9, or 18x9?

If you want to run that wide of a tire I would at least get a 10" wide wheel.

well, I would refer to trooks advise on the wheel widths as I don't know that much about what the wider tires require as far as rim widths...

but.....my coilovers are dranked...no aal..just blocks..truck rides awesome..couldn't be anymore comfy..in fact I made a trip about 2 months ago from colorado to california straight through the rockies pulling a trailer with my mustang on it and my ninja in the bed....very very nice ride... I don't think there would be any rubbing with 38's at all, or at least that's my opinion..again...with only the tiniest rubbing with 6in lift, and 36's...I don't think it'd rub at all on or offroad at all with only 2inches more tire and 3in body lift....

Do you have bigger blocks for rear or just 2.5in procomp on top of stock blocks? How much lift do you think you gain from the coilovers?

yes, i have more than just the pro comp block........I had 4wheel parts do the install..at first I tried the truck with the pre runner look and then took it back to them and they added to it so as to have it leveled out...

and what do you mean how much lift from the coil overs?....I may or may not be able to answer...but compared to what?

I was looking at my pics, but I can't find one where you can clearly see the blocks...everything was painted black so you can't make it out from the pics I currently have...I can give you a measurement tomorrow of how much block height is back there though tomorow if you want...and probably a better pic..
