i dont care what ford thinks or anyone else thinks about gay rights etc.. they either build a quality truck or they dont. thats what it comes down to right???
When we are talking about quality of equipment, yes, you are right. That's what it comes down to. I still think and will always think that Ford trucks are the strongest and toughest. I was just voicing my opinion about their actions about gay rights, which is my prerogative. If anyone else doesn't care about that stuff, that's their prerogative. Does this really need to go any further? I don't think so.

The whole gay rights issues is so far off topic, it's not even worth discussing...

As for the original issue, sway bar links are exposed to a lot of bending and twisting force. They're highly exposed to the elements. Weakened parts after 8 or 9 or 10 years shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. A busted sway bar link, while a bit inconvenient, is hardly worth writing home about... heck the replacements are $20. I spend more than that on an oil change!

Actually, the oldest it could be is 11 years and just shy of two months... The first '97s were sold January 1st of '96... but point taken.

Coke vs Pepsi

Think its more of a preference issue. I've owned 3 fords and 1 chevy. I have enjoyed all the trucks I've owned. My Chev had 360000kms on it when I sold it - replaced the brakes and thats it. 2 out of 3 of my fords have had complete front end suspension rebuilds and engine rebuilds. Bottom line... parts break, mechanics are people too and they need to feed their families. I like coke instead of pepsi and I drive a ford now, might not tomorrow...
