and ball joints for that matter, ppl are already complaining about ball joints going bad on 33s with 2.0 spacer kits or adj shocks with in 2 months, on the other hand some are goin 40 pls k miles on 2.5 spacers with no complaints
The bolt in coil overs will make the ride that much better due to valving, and he would have the option to adjust ride height, also, good shocks will save wear and tear all over the truck, They will add more wheel travel, rebuildable due to being sway-away, just send em in. Also easy to install, and the body lift , ya being cheap, but looks bad, you see too much frame rail, and no perf. out of it. The coil overs would be a true perf. lift
also you have to think, he wants to run 33's, ok, that is alot more weight those shocks have to dampen, so the stock shocks would have to be replaced, why not pay the extra $$$ and do it right the first time. that way, if he wants to get 35's on day, the coil overs could handle 37's like the were nothing. And i cant stress enoguh, the fact of wheel travel, if only a few inches gained, is huge, that alone will save wear and tear on alot. And again much much smooother ride
true on pretty much everything u said, however the oem shocks on the f1 are solid. smoth soft ride, run 33 even 35s with no problem. u have to remember on this new style everything little thing was made that much better down to the damn bolts haha. only bad thing i can think of with the sway aways the 8-11 inches of travel is horrible on the stock ball joints
i dont know if u have driven in a new f1 but there is no comparrison to the ride quality than any other truck ive been in. my old truck was a 96 f1 with a 351 clevelan with 450 hp at the wheels, giant i beams 4.5 over on each side with king 14 " shocks pullin 22 inches of travel and a 4 linked rear. the drive on my new f1 is ten times better
True True, glad to see someone on here knows a bit more about suspension. i beat my stock one's to the ground, but what i was thinking is that is he really going to be using all that travel, most likely not, there for the ball joints wouldnt be being maxed out. he could always droop out and put some straps on it, but thats a whole new can of worms on here. LOL
Nice on the 96, I have a 01 that is our pre-run/ chase truck, with custom deaver pack in the rear with custom shackels, (all self made) strapped at 18. with a front end pulling 17 strapped. id say the better ride quality is due to being I-beamed, and a-arm... ya you get mucho travel from I-beam, but its not what they call (clean) travel as in a-arms..again..that could go on for hours...LOL did you race at all? we should be taking on MDR next year with the toyota
All sounds nice and technical but the original post related to performing modifications that DO NOT void warranty. I think he wants a 3" BL and run 33" tires. All he wants is a little height and oversize wheels and tires for looks. No performance changes, No added suspension travel...Nothing that might interfere with warranty. From past experience anything you do to your ride the dealership will try to relate it to your failed part... Some dealerships are better than others but if you are worried about warranty issues. I would leave the truck alone until your warranty expires.

i agree with bob
a bodylift would be great & performance accessories make outstanding products, im using one right now on my 02 screw
I know they're working on a kit for the 06-07 f1s because the rear bumper is different than the 04-05s
next time im on the phone with someone from performance accessories i'll ask about it

BlueOval pretty much hit the spot on what im looking for, allthough i do appreciate the extra information!
ill be talking to a few shops over the phone today to hopefully chose what i want. i figure if i go with the body lift (which is more expensive for the NB f150's) it wont be level and ill eventually end up paying for a leveling kit down the road anyways. so cost wise it would be better for me just to use a leveling kit... but again ill have to clear up all the premature wear issues. my dealer seemed pretty laid back about modifying the truck. Or at least they didnt blow me off at the mention of lifting. Plus if i ever had problems relating to the leveling kit i could remove it and then take it in.
still a picture of a new model 2wd f150 body lifted would be great. one that hasnt been leveled that is.
And good to know about the spindle kits, i could never find a package online so i guess thats why, theyre not out yet for my truck

heres something to get a kick out of... if u get the leveling kit as i did, ebay 82 and some change and free shipping, u can always take it off in an hour or two and then take it to the dealer and theyll never know
with anything else other than a body lift u wouldnt be able to do quickly for a warranty issue like that
yea i considered that.. and actually im leaning more towards a leveling kit now. ive come across a few post that says the premature issues are expected to occur around 100k miles or so. how about wear on the tires?
im thinking a body lift w/o having the truck leveled would look kinda goofy
