Need Help Fast!!!!

i am going to crank up my torsion bars a little bit hopefully today but i looked under my truck and they arent equal. the driver side is screwed into the truck quite a bit more than the passenger side. are they supposed to be equal? also my dad took in my truck one time to get an alignment and they said you have to buy a $150 kit to put on to get an alignment and then you can get them for cheap but the first time you have to buy that kit...is this true?

<------passenger bolt on torsion bar

they often arent the same this is a way of leveing the truck out just crank the same amount to raise the truck start by one turn then drive it all to make the truck settle and 1/2 a turn there on
