Spindles

ok i have decided on the 3 inch spindles up front and the 265/75/16 bfg ko's. My question was i was going to add a 2 inch block in the back, but could i do an add a leaf instead? and benifits? also the spindles and either the add a leaf or 2 in block will get me the minor lift i want but could i also add the daystar 1.5 inch spacer up front as well to help me get level? These are the spindles im looking at http://www.truckn-store.com/product....search=spindle any good? or i just found these http://www.suspensionmax.com/f150SPINDLE.png they are a 3.5 inch. same question with these as above. Also are their any wheel spacers i could use for the rear tires to match the fronts when i put the spindles on?

yes you can use and add a leaf, umm i think the spindles and spacers combined you might need more lift in the rear to level it out. as for the spidles i would go with the ones from suspersionmax. their spindles are made by dosctech(sp). i don't know about the wheel spacers, i do know i would like to get some if you find them. and lastly for the tires just go with 285/75/16 (33x11.00) they would look better.

take a look at my truck for instance, i have a 3" bodylift and 1.5" coil spacers on it. the tires are 265/75/16's and i think they look small.

With the spindles and spacers, I'd go with at least a 285/75-16 tire also. Neither site gives the manufacturer of the spindles. I'd contact them and ask. As long as they are not made by AIM you should be fine.

Do you know if i went with the 3.5 inch spindle and 1.5 inch spacer up front, how high I would have to lift the rear to get it level? I was looking at a website and they said due to ford geometry on their suspension th 1.5 inch space gives you a two inch lift. Dodgeslayer what engine and gears are you running, bc i would run the 285's but i have the 4.2 and 3.55 and i know i will lose power until i can switch gears (just got to get more $$$$). I just don't know how much power i will lose. Someone told me it would be like having 3.2 gears.

most kits come listed like this 6/4, 3.5/2 and so on. so that is like a 2" difference, and they also level the truck when put on. on yours with a 3.5" spindle and a 1.5" spacer that equals 5" of lift on the front. i would say lift the rear 3" and that will put it pretty close if not level.

the space might lift it 2" at first, but when they settle it will probably be around 1.5".

i have the same engine and gears as you, and you will notice a power loss. if you are planning on getting gears then i wouldn't really worry about it.

wandell is correct, i would call the manufacure and see who makes the spindles. if they are made by AIM then don't by them. they don't have a good rep. i am sorry for giving the wrong info they are made by springtech. i just checked and found out, but i would still call and make sure.

I have a 3.5 inch spindles and ordered them from an ebay company and the brand is Doestch. Doestch makes quality products and the lift came out very nice. It came with the 2 inch block in the back and is pretty much level. If i were you i would find the Doestch lift and get that one! its fantastic.

thanks, i plan on doing the 3.5 inch spindle and 1.5 inch spacer up front and a 3 inch block in the back. How far out do your tires stick out though?

does anybody know if the Doestch spindles widen the track? if they do, how much? i am just wondering if they widen the front track as much or less than the fabtech. i want to get the ones that widen it the least amount as long as they are good quality. if i end up going with fabtech i want to get wheel spacers for the rear to make it even, does anyone know where to get them? i dont mind the tires sticking out a little but if the fronts do then i want the backs to as well. thanks, brian

I'm not sure. I believe the Fabtech spindles widen the track width the most. I'd contact the companies directly and ask them. Also, the only company I can think of off the top of my head that makes bolt on wheel spacers is AIM and you don't want anything made by them. I know there are other bolt on spacers, but I can't think of any at this time.
