It would be more impressive if the thing ever saw dirt, instead of just sitting in their display booth.

FINALLY!!! Someone here with a lifted truck that actually takes it off road! Very nice. JD makes good stuff. I laugh at the guys who buy Fabtech and Rize and the rest of the street lifts.

Why would I want a long travel lift when I live in S. Georgia? The only way to offroad around here is mud, clay, water.

I know Camburg. There are many Camburg equipped desert racers. I also know that truck - it was built with lots of shiny stuff for the show circuit, though it is rumored that it may run in the Baja 1000 this year. We'll see if it actually shows up and starts the race.

For the rest of you who got a little hurt with my statement about the other brands of lifts...well, I laugh at anyone who thinks that stock balljoints are going to live with 35"+ tires and off-road use. Even Rize won't deny that fact. Before you flame me, simply go to the manufacturers and ask them directly. And it isn't just a Ford thing either - it happens to all of them. I have seen more popped balljoints than I can remember, all on trucks where guys installed a Rize/Fabtech/Rancho/RCD/etc... and big tires. Most weren't even high-speed either, it was just the stress of that big tire on that tiny little factory balljoint. You know, it really would not be a big deal for these lift mfgs to scrap the factory balljoint and install something like a Uniball.

Everyone modifies their vehicle for a different purpose. Not everyone needs or wants to fly across the desert at 90mph just like not everyone needs to drive through two foot deep mud or run a 12 second quarter mile. It's all about building a vehicle for your needs, whatever they may be.
