Chassis rust?

Just curious if anyone else had to replace the rear axle control arms on an Expedition because they rotted out? They weren't bad ($40/ea.), but if they just used a different paint/coating, it wouldn't happen. I'm considering POR-15(ing) the new ones before I put them on.

You don't have to sell me on POR-15, I already use it. I'm just pissed that such a critical part of the vehicle is made of stamped steel and has a cheap coating of paint from the factory.
