What Leveling Kit To Use?
What Is The Best Leveling Kit To Go With On A 2004 F150 2wd?there Are So Many Different Brands And Different Setups,so I Am Really Not To Sure What To Use. Thanks For The Input. Also Does It Need To Come Up 2 1/2 Inches Or 3 Inches?
well it may need to come up 3" but there are not 3" leveling kits, you can get 1.5, 2, and 2.5" kits, i have the 2.5" autosprings kit and it leveled my truck out completely. I have a 2006 2wd f150 and i am dead level now. I think autosprings is one of the best makes there are for leveling kits, everyone has there own opinion, but thats just my 2 cents. Hope it helps!

I had a 2.5" Autospring installed on my 04 2wd reg cab stx, and there is a clunk in the front end whenever I hit a bump. The techs at the garage say it is the upper control arm hitting the spring itself whenever the suspension flexes. They also said there is nothing they can do about it. They said it won't hurt anything, it's just annoying. It has rubbed a little paint off the springs, but nothing else so far. It has been installed for about 600 miles now. Anyone else have similar problems or suggestions on how to fix the situation.

I am researching leveling my truck. I have narrowed it down to three choices. 2" AS; Bilstein 5100 preload adjustable; or Rancho RS9000XXX. The bilstein and the Rancho options are a lot more expensive than the $80.00 lift kit, but they would offer improved shocks. I am looking real closely at the Rancho rs9000xxx, as I like the idea of the infinite degrees of adjustment in the heighth. If you buy the AS, you are set at whatever height you buy. I do not want to go any higher than 2" with AS because of the geometry changes. With the Rancho and to some degree the Bilstein, you can pick and choose and experiment with how much you want to throw off the suspension geometry. The deal is that the shocks cost about six times as much as the AS and that is a real consideration.

I have an '04 Lariat Supercrew 4wd and put on the Daystar 2.5". I've got a set of Nitto Mud Grapplers (33x12.5) mounted on American Racing Victor Teflons. They rub just a little when I turn in the middle of a rut, but I've just ordered and received a Skyjacker 3 in kit. Will post more later.
