Front lift?

Anyone have any suggestions on a way to lift the front of my truck up a few inches. I have a f150 2006 2wd and am already installing the 2.5" AS leveling kit, and i want to install 1.5-3" rear blocks, but want to keep the truck level so am looking for a way to raise the front up for a reasonable price. I am not sure what springs, or shackles do, but if anyone has any suggestions let me know. I just know that lifting much more than this may cause stress to my truck. I am soon adding a 3" body lift but want more lift than just this, i just do not have the money to put what i really want on which is the 6" fabtech lift, because with the price of the lift and install its going to run me somwhere between 1700-2000.

Any suggestions again please let me know, and i am not even sure if this is feasable but its worth a shot!

A leveling kit or new coil over shocks are the only way to lift just the front end. You might want to hold off on the leveling kit untill you get a quote for the body lift. If I remember correctly they are quite expensive for the new body style. I have seen prices up to $1000 for the kit and installation on the 04' - Newer Forum. By the time you spend that much on a leveling kit and body lift you would be close to spending the same amount on a 6" Fabtech.
Search the 04-Newer forums for body lift and you will find mad info on them.

I have been quoted aroound 900 for the body lift and gap guards, along with the leveling kit, all installed. Now i found a 6" fabtech for just over 1200 but then i need it installed so would that still run me almost 2x the price? just curious, and would the shocks, and coils change anything about my ride in the front or just give me some lift?

You can't go over 2.5 inches of lift up front without going to a full suspension lift or you will have problems with your CV joints and ball joints failing.

Cool

So the addition of the shocks and coilovers would not work with leveler, i would need a full suspension? If this is the case, then what else is diffrent between a 4x2 and a 4x4? Because i was figuring if i put the fx4 shocks and coils up front and shocks and blocks in the rear, i would be sitting as a fx4, and then i know you can add a leveling kit on a fx4, so thats why i figured i could do both, but i definatly could be wrong. I may not be getting someting about the change....sorry

I got a quote to install a 6" fabtech lift on my 02 for $660. Just call around and see what people will charge.

There has to be a difference in the 4X4 and 2X4 control arms. I installed a 2" leveling kit and ran it for 46K until the upper control arm joint failed. I was completely confused because I thought that was just lifting it up to stock 4X4 height and nothing would be stressed.

Either I was wrong or I had a faulty stock upper control arm.

No, i do know that installing a leveling kit can cause stress and over time cause joints and the control arm to fail, but i am more interested in the effects of installing the FX4 coilovers up front with a 2.5" autospring leveling kit, and doing the FX4 shocks in back with a 2" 4x4 block on my 4x2. I think this would raise me up damn close to factory FX4 height with a level front, and i am not sure the stress but if its possible i would love to do it, im hoping wandell has some answers for me on it, because i am installing my leveling kit this weekend and then some blocks. I would love to then install the FX4 stuff.

When you install your autospring 2.5" kit, you will answer your own ??. When you go to reconnect your upper control arm pay attention to how your ball joint looks compared to stock angles.

So for every truck you are saying its different, i may be able to do the shocks on my truck i just need to check my joints first and make sure they are not too out of wack?

No. I was trying to be a gentle Smarta$$. When you reconnect your upper control arm it will be at a greater angle than stock.

IMO: Simply put, anything that you put between the strut tower and the lower control arm will create a more extreme angle on your ball joint. The extreme angle on that joint creates wear.

Yea i understand that, anything done to the suspension of your truck, that is not a full new suspension will increase the stress put on it, and i get this. I know the angles will become steeper when i add the leveling kit, i just didnt know if changing the coilovers will change the angles or not, thats all iw as asking.
