I have that EXACT setup with 8.5" of lift and still had to trim the front valence under the bumper not to rub.

why do 35's fit with just a 2.5" leveling kit but with 36's you need 8.5" of lift?

The width. People with just 2.5" are runnin narrow 35's and narrow wheels. Running a 15.50 wide on 10" wheel makes a HUGE difference

so is there anyway to achieve this setup without having to get a 6 inch suspension lift... ur truck is the ideal look that i am going for! if not, my dad owns a body shop and do you think we would have the tools needed to install a 6" suspension lift? or should i just have it done? we are pretty handy with tools! ha is it really that tough?

I would say to run these tires your would need at least 8" to not rub. If your dad owns a shop it should not be much of a problem most of the kits asre pretty much bolt on these days.

I agree. Remember wheel width and backspacing are as important to fitment as tire size. Like he said, the people running 35's with only a leveling kit are using 35x12.50's on the OEM 7.5 inch wheels with 5.5 inches of backspacing. This would never fit with a 10 inch wide wheel with less backspacing.
