What to get?

Hello all, I know very little about the subject, and I am looking to lift my 2002 Supercrew 4X2 with stock wheels by 2". If I tweak my torsion bars to get the height will it affect the ride or performance? Would I be better off going with a 2" (or whatever will actually lift my truck 2") body lift? Thanks in advance.

dont think your truck if it is a 2002 has torsion bars, someone more knowlegeable will chime in but if thats the case the autospring 2" spacer will give you what your looking for.

Right, the 97-03 F-150 4x2's don't have torsion bars. They have coil springs. Daystar makes a 2 inch coil spring spacer for your truck. Your other options are 3.5 inch lift spindles or a body lift.

Told you I didn't know what I was talking about. So what would be my best bet as far as price and practicality. I have no aversion to working on the truck for a few hours or even a weekend to do an install. What are the pros and cons of those options as far as looks/ride/price and which has more merit? Thanks again, you guys are a huge help.

this is a little info on each, mentioned above. the best for the price is a bl and the spacer.

2" spacer - $70 and takes about 1 hour to install for both sides

3.5" spindle lift - $350-600 depending on namebrand and about 3-5 hours to install. depending on your skills.

3" BL - $150 and takes a weekend to install. lots of little steps.

here is my 4x2 w/ a 3" BL and a 1.5" spacer on it. i have a 3.5" spindle lift in a box here, i am just waiting on more greens for tires and gears.

I agree. Also, if you shop around you can get a set of spindles for around $300. The only drawback with spindles is they increase your front track width a few inches, which some people don't like.
