Thanks for adding a lot to our discussion!

In all seriousness I'm just wanting a more comfortable ride.

Get whatever you want Dude. Don't listen to the naysayers! But just for the record, if you really want to know if they're the same, just call the dealer's parts department, and ask for the part numbers. They should be the same.

I'm going to call the parts dept tomorrow. On a side note, I'm wondering if it's not something the local Ford place is doing, as I've seen several FX4's driving around town with the Rancho shocks, now that I've been trying to determine the difference.

I'll post whatever I find out.

YaMon,

I too have an 4x2 and you hare me very interested in making a swap for 4x4 coils and rear block. Please tell me more about this as I absolutely hate the rake on my truck. Do I have to go to Ford to get these parts or do you know of a better option? Also, how much money am I going to be looking at? Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!

I've been trying to figure that out.....

for a long time. Several people doubted my claims because they did not see any pics. Anyways gonna try and help out DrumDog. The advantages are far greater than installing those levelers out there ( 4x4 lifts not included ).

3" lift
Ball joint not stressed
Firmer ride
100% stock parts

I would like to hear some opinions on this as well. I would much rather have the FX4 ride than the Lariat. Is it possibe to just put '04 FX4 front shocks on? Or is that a waste of time and I should just go to the Rancho's?

Yes.. The only difference is the badging, wheels, tires, interior, and skid plates.. You might get upgraded shocks but no Rancho's...

OH yeah!! And they paint the bumper's which seems weird.. Chrome looks much better!! Opinion of course..

sclark27--that is one HOT ride!!! Man that thing is just damn near perfect!

Care to share some specs--wheels, tires, lift, other mods, etc?

back to topic--I still haven't gotten around to calling the local dealership, but the service manager is about to swing by to help my roommate work on his mountain bike, so maybe I'll ask him when he gets here.

Yamon, do you have any pics of this setup. Is this true. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the fx4 height is only an 1" higher than the 4x2. Would like to know more information about this since I am a 4x2 and looking to level out. Does anybody have pics with this conversion. Thanks guys.

LMAO, thats one of the reasons I got the FX4...the color matched bumper, and the better guages and skids of course.
