Squeaky add a leaf problem....

Guys I have an add a leaf that is squeaking pretty good whenever I drive over a small bump or hill.

I can bounce the rear of my truck and can hear it sqeaking pretty loudly. It is coming from the left side too.

One of my leaf's shipped without a squeaking pad, but I installed anyway. I have the replacement squeaky pad now.

Do you guys think that by putting the squeaky pad between the leafs will solve my problem?

Any of you guys had this problem? What did you do to correct it?

Thank you in advance.

I had a similar problem with one of the pads falling off my leaf springs. Yes the new "squeaky pad" will solve your problem. A little white lithium on each side of the pad wont hurt either.

Thanks for the reply STWater.

I had the "squeaky pad" installed this morning and when I shook the back of my truck the squeaking was gone. However, when I got back to work and got out I shook the rear again and dad gum it there is still a small squeak coming from the leaf.

Are squeaking leafs just a common problem that happens?

What is white lithium?

Well in order to stop the squeaky leaf problem I was having, the mechanic opted to leave the large c-clamp off. There is still 1 clamp wrapped around the leafs and two bolts holding them together. He said that the leafs were not going anywhere.

My questions is...

Should I have had the guy put another clamp around the leaf and just live with the squeak or just leave off and have no squeak?

Thanks.
