If those are original shocks, they needed replacing a long time ago. I never leave OE shocks on longer than 30k.

It does sound as if you need to cut the bolt off and replace it. As said before if periodic maintenace is performed these things don't get to the point of "Needing to be cutoff" anyway I hope your project goes well and spend as much as possible(within reason) and do it right the first time.

Thanks for the link Jordan. I've been thinking about doing this.

I once broke of the factory front stud that is pressed into the front part of the suspension on a Ranger. Just cut it out and put a bolt of the same size through the hole. Tacked the backside just for extra measure. Tightened it up and it worked fine.

They had Bilstein, Koni, and Tokico sets of 4 for $260-210.........

Go to a local auto parts store and get your shocks. Remember any shock will be better than the factory shock, especially a factory shock with 100K.

Bilstein or Monroe are quality shocks.
I have Rancho RSX's and they are good but a little more expensive. About $50 each.

Bilsteins are a bit expensive, but they have a lifetime warranty.
And are pretty darned good shocks IMHO.

I've never seen them lower than about $65 each. That's about what I paid.
