either way it will be stupid to not regear, and unsafe to not buy new brakes

your vehicle WILL NOT stop safely with 35s. if i cant do good emergency stops in my regular cab i dont what what you have you wont stop safely. and im talking about new rotors with 10k miles on them. aftermarket brakes absolutely

i'm with bigplayer...get the 6 inches and 35's and if you're not happy with that (which you should be cause it's gonna look sick) then get the body lift and 38's...you should pass inspection with only 9 inches of lift for sure....

Good luck..._motes

Body lifts are the cheapest way to get more clearance... It does show all the ugly or rather un-attractive framework and you're right! The exhaust is just hanging there for all to see and gaps between front and rear bumper... BL's just take away from the overall good looks of the truck...Sounds like you want to go BIG. Get an 8' suspension with upgraded shocks and go with 38" tires and have it done with... that will for sure give you the height you want..BoB

6 inch fabtech, 3 inch PA body lift with gap gaurds, torsion bars cranked, and rear AAL. i dont see any "unattractive" gaps or framework there. "go big"? he has close to 11 inches of lift with 38x15.50s.

Bigplayer6907... Your truck is awesome. I agree with you. When done 'Your Way" the BL is transformed into the truck prefectly. I see no "unattractive' any thing on your truck. I have observed numerous BL's that show more frame work than I like too see. Your ride breaks all those rules. I like the stance the tires "the total package" sorry If I offended you relating to BL's. I just like trucks with Suspension vs Body Lifts. BoB

i do see the frame. and the gap gaurds are not exactly fine peices of craftsmanship. a sliver of plastic across the frame, i'll just stick with suspension lift or no lift theory. but to each there own, whatever u like.

i might add that that is Bigtruck311s truck off this site. in a couple of weeks i will have the same set up as him only on nitto mud grapplers.

hmm i have all suspension lift on my truck, im 5'11", and i can see the frame even if im standing on a curb. even without a bodylift or gap guards...looking at any truck there is a small gap between the frame and the bed. a sliver piece of plastice? since its just for cosmetics i dont see the need for an engineered proved and tested COVER. the front fenders and plastive bellow the radiator are made of close to the same stuff...i guess those slivers of plastice covering gaps serve no purpose

your just missing my point and honestly i dont know how it is even an argument. u cant tell me a body lift looks as good as a suspension lift does? to me it looks like a cheap way to just fit bigger tires with out any concern of how it will look in the end, just gotta fit them bigger tires. to each his own im done here.

i dont know how you figure a body lift is $300 (unless youre talking about 04+ then ignore this)
i can get a PA bl installed on my '01 for $300 including gap guards

I dont think a BL looks too bad. I had a 2" on top of 6" Fab on my old '03 and you really couldnt tell that much. If you get the gap guards and raise your exhaust plus fix your tow hooks it looks fine IMO.

I put some pics of my old truck up in my gallery.

body lifts can be hidden really well but gap guards only hide gap in wheel wells he is talking about the frame hanging lower than the truck body can be hidden with the right running boards or step tubes and as far as the exhaust and hitch doesnt require much more work to hide this ethier i think hes talking about a person who didnt care about these factors

look at it this way cheap easy tire clearance most people charge $100 per inch plus cost of lift what ever it is but i know people that have had them install for $100 or less just depends on the garage
