replacement time?

i don't know if anyone remembers but awhile back there was a thread about replaceing upper and lower ball bearings (or something like that) at around 100k, i dont know if this is what i need but my 2wd 97 f150 has about 93k on it and has a bad squek in the front drivers side suspension. i think i remember hearing that you could order this stuff off of moog.com but i dont know what i need? also do i need to replace my shocks? i've noticed that the ride has been preatty rough, if so i kind of wanted to try the rancho 9000 adjustable shocks, does anyone have any advice on either of these?

If you are going to do the lower ball joints, you need to do the uppers at the same time. You have to replace the entire upper control arm which has the new ball joints. Make sure you get some camber kits when you replace the upper control arms. It should take you about 4 hours to replace the uppers and lowers. You might want to repack/replace the wheel bearings while you have the front end apart. Get Moog replacement parts.

It's one of those jobs where if you're going to do part of it, you might as well do everything, because you know that next week the one piece you didn't replace will go out. I'd do upper and lower ball joints, shocks, wheel bearings, and tie rod ends. Also, use the Moog replacements. Chances are you can print off the cheapys from somewhere and take it to a price matching store and get them for cheap.
