wheel hoppin

I have the same exact thing happen to me in my '90 4.9l 5 speed F150. I know that this engine has the power to smoke the tires, i could do it easy in my '90 4.9 E40D. I think that the M50D trans is the culprit.

Your rear leaf springs are shot..either some new leaf springs..or traction bars

Indeed, it's called axle hop or axle tramp, and it's VERY bad on the drivetrain!! Stiffer springs may help, traction bars will eliminate it, but present their own issues.

The key to racing fast is NOT breaking traction in the first place. If you're spinning the tires, they're not accelerating you the way they could.

Broken rear-end gears, snapped axles, twisted driveshafts, broken trans. yoke, broken u-joints. Do I need to go any further? Axle wrap is very bad.

If you're gonna race and spin your tires. At least make it look cool with a limited-slip that loosens the rubber on both sides. Then get some traction bars to get rid of the suicidal axle wrap. It may be expensive, but by the looks of that truck you've got some potential. And you may or may not know that you have a different amount of leafs to compensate for the torque that can lift one side of the rear of the truck more than the other.
