You want gas-pressurized shocks...typically they are charged with notrogen as you note.

From Wikipedia, here's a simple exlanation:

Many shock absorbers contain compressed nitrogen, to reduce the tendency for the oil to foam under heavy use. Foaming temporarily reduces the damping ability of the unit. In very heavy duty units used for racing and/or off-road use, there may even be a secondary cylinder connected to the shock absorber to act as a reservoir for the oil and pressurized gas.

if they are white body shocks the nitro will be harder but they both suck trust me

move to a monotube shock like bilstein or edelbrock, youll be replacing many sets of whitebodies before you find something that youd like even half as much

read my post again. white body shocks all suck. not all gas charged shocks suck

fabtech and pro comp's coilovers are alright but definitely nowhere near the quality of kings and foxes. kings, foxes, swayaway, and some other high end shocks are also oil charged

i run fox 2.0's in front and bilstein 5150 mini resevoirs in rear. i cant believe i ever wasted money on two sets of whitebodies

swayaways do leak more than other comparable shocks i definitely agree

pro comp and fabtech have never and will never make great shocks and trucks. their dezert racetrucks are build by other people, not a single part in house. none of their off the shelf parts come from the "racing experience" they claim. low quality high quantity goods
