Trac Bars????

When do you need trac bars on your truck? Does it depend on how high it is and the size of tire? Power? Or craziness of the off road driving? Tow a trailer sometimes in the sand and it gets pretty soft, back end starts to jump sometimes and I havent even lifted it yet. Should I get these with the lift or do I not really need them? Any help will help guys. I dont really want to rip the rear axle and end up making an expedition out of a fishing or hunting trip.

From what I understand they are need when towing alot, heavy HP engine, or lift and bigger tires. They can limit wheel travel off road but better than a bunch of axle wrap on road
