i would think so, you are going to enjoy the bisteins.

Make sure you have shims, and camber kit on hand too. So you can get it driving like it should for a lowered truck. Believe me on the shims part You will want to have them, it sounds like all hell is breaking loose on the the back of your truck without them. You probably will need a 4* shim.

Also dont be suprised if you dont actually get a full 4" of drop from just the shackle alone.
Post pics of course!

Acctually if he is replacing the rear LEAF spring it should be centered and the the shims in from factory if there are any should be fine. That is the way my rear leaf swap went. To my knowledge the only time you need shims is with shackles and hangers. I could be wrong and '05 F-150 should defenitly have it checked after it is lowered.

Thanks, I ordered my Bilsteins from Steeda a few weeks ago and they took longer then expected to come. So I went to a local shop and got some KYB front shocks.. I havent installed either set yet, would like to do it this weekend. I heard everyone loves the Bilsteins, but what would be more suportive and longer lasting for my lowered truck; Bilsteins or the KYBs?

My kit was a leaf spring swap in the rear and coil over up front, Still has a chatter (specialy towing a load), Stock shackles but guess its still angled wrong. Front NO rubs with 305/35/24ZR . Rear... dont wannna start.

I have the Hotchkis labeled Bilsteins on my truck. I also have the Hotchkis lowering kit. KYB makes a good Shock. But I do think the Bilsteins will last longer and MIGHT give slightly better performance. That is my opinion anyway. Since you already have the KYB's put them on and run them for a few months. Then put the Bilsteins on and run them for a few months and let us all know which ones you like better. We may all be running the wrong shocks. KYB may be the BOMB!!!

Better check that pinion angle if the rear end is making any kind of noise. About any shop can check it, someone in the shop will know how. But i does sound like some shimming is in your future.

i read over his post fast, i wasnt aware of a 4" leaf drop. Thats cool, what does the kit say as far as payload/ towing, is it anywhere near factory specs?

And yea i would agree, that just b.c you put new leafs in doesnt mean you are perfectly centered like factory shims were. You may try tossing in your factory shims in, if you have no shims at all in there. The factory shims from what ive read are actually like a 1* shim.
