the 7.5in on a 2WD is almost the same as a 6in on a 4WD

Yes..I have the 7.5" Spindle lift on my 2000 Expedition (soon to be sold)... Love the lift, doesn't overstress anything other then normal. Looks great aspect ratio wise.. Have 315/75R16 BFG M/T's on her... (35")

Here is the pic.

because a stock 4wd sits about 2-3in higher than a 2wd. you dont have to lift a 4wd as much to clear the same size tires. a 4wd with a 6in and 315s and a 2wd with a 7.5in and 315s will be very close in height. go to fabtechs website if you want to see some pictures.

it seems to me if you put a 6" lift on a 2wd and one on a 4wd, they would be the same height. i mean on both vehicles you are taking out most of the suspension. i could be wrong tho.

4X4's sit higher than 2wd because they have a factory installed block in the rear and the torsion bars sit it up higher in front than a 2wd. It is a lot more evident on the 97-03 Body style.

I haven't researched 2wd lifts cause I have a 4X4 but they have different suspension set-ups that is probably why you only need 6" lift to fit 315's on a 4X4 but you need 7 1/2 to fit 315's on a 2wd.

I like the look of a lifted truck 2wd or 4wd. My buddy has a F-150 2wd with the 7 1/2 inch lift with a locker in the rear and goes a lot of places 4X4's go

that's what I always thought too. If you remove the block in the rear and the suspension in the front wouldnt they both be the same height after you install the same height suspension?

IMO they should be the same height if you install the same size lift. When putting on a 6inch kit the factory 2 inch block in the rear is removed.

I honestly don't know much about the 2wd suspension but if that was the case why would the 2wd lift be 7.5 inches you can't run any bigger tire than a 6" lift for a 4X4.
