Body lift installation

I've got my PA body lift in for a 2003 supercrew 4x4, and hopefully I'll get a couple of days off where I can get it put on. I was wondering how difficult is it to put it on yourself or should I have it done at 4Wheel Parts?

4wheelparts should be roughly $700.00, but I found a shop in Arizona (this is where I leave) for $450.00...

lets see 450 for them to install, or 450 for beer and burgers for u to install... no its seriously has easy as bolting on and off. but its just getting to the bolts that is time consuming. the bed bolts are in there pretty good, i would start lubing them now as we speak even if u dont get to it til next week u will thank me for it. also many people i know torch the old box bolts out and just buy new ones. the body bolts arent too bad. we had it done in a weekend going at a relaxing pace, just make sure u have blocks of wood a couple jacks and a good friend.

Yeah I gotta go with do it your self Body lifts are cheap that is part of what makes them so popular save your self the $300-$600 bucks and just take your time with a friend. Use the savings for either other mods or tools or my little secret to treat the wife or g/f to an awsome night out.....then you get more mods and get lucky

Thumbs up

I talked to a tech from Performance Acceseries and he told me that Ford uses some pretty tough thread locker, and he reccomended to use a little " Micro Torch" in his words , to heat up the nut and he says that the thread locker will loosen up enough to get them broken loose a whole lot easier.
Just some FYI for you guys.

Also if your having difficulties getting the fan clutch bolt loose you can use an air chisel with a blunt end.

i would do it myself if you have the tools, it doesnt take anything speceal but a impact would speed things up greatly, i recoment doing it yourself just remember to put alot of locktight on the bed and body bolts before you put them back in you dont want those suckers creeping there way out good luck
