Exclamation Help with a lift style

Ok. I have the 2.5 Level Kit on my 04 f150 already. I wanna move higher and was wondering what would be a better way to go. I'm not doing a lot of Crawling as much as just some 2wd mudding(whenever there is mud in AZ) but I want to do either a 3" body lift, OR put on a new upper A-arm, longer springs (w/ the spacer) and then block the rear. Which would be better? any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Stay away from the body lift.

Sounds to me like you are trying to do this the bootleg way. Adding a block in the back will most likely cause axle wrap. So i say just get a whole new lift kit. Check out the 3.5 inch Skyjacker kit in a post a few posts below this one.

Whats wrong with the body lift? For mudding its perfectly fine (not like you need alot of wheel travel for mudding...you just usually want space for bigger tires).

I would just go with the body lift...pretty simple to do yourself (with the help of a buddy or two and a good day or so). Plus you dont have to mess with the suspension.

my $.02

A body lift does nothing for performance. I am partial to suspension lifts over body lifts becuase if I am going to lift a truck I am going to do it the right way, not the cheap way.

I'm not going the Cheap way, I'm going the alternative way. Like I said, I probably going to mindly offroad or some mudding. Nothing overly aggressive so there's no point in me spending 2Gs for something that's overkill and pointless. I just wanted opionions on which would be better out of the two. a Full suspention lift for it would be nothing more than a broken wallet and pointless.

i agree with you blooddog and johngs....body lfits are perfectly fine....im doing a body lift....on top of my 6 inch lift.....nothing wrong with it....its just a simpler money saver for that little extra height and larger tires....why would he spend 2g's on a suspension lift for the look of a higher truck and for some mild off road action????

I agree. I'm on my third truck with a body lift and have never had a problem. Most of the people that bad mouth body lifts have never had one or they know some moron who made one out of hockey pucks, wood or metal pipe. There is nothing wrong with a properly designed body lift like the Performance Accessories kits.

Well if it is nothing than "mild wheeling", why not save alot more money and just throw on some 285s and be done with it?

I already have A set of 33/13.50's mounted. Clearance is the issue. you can't just throw a set of 33's on a stock truck and expect all to be good. you have to consider ground clearanc(where the tires come in) and then tire to wheel well clearace also. 33's take a good chunk of clearance away that you need. I don't know about you, but I have a nice truck and I would prefer not having my tire rip my front fender off when I bottom out due to lack of clearance.

First off, DO NOT talk down to me. YOU are the one who asked the question.

Second, the best looking NBS F-150 I have seen had a leveling kit and 33s. I have this same set up on my 92. The truck looked like it was meant to be that way.
