What lift kit?

I'm either going to be putting a 6" lift on my 04 FX4 Screw, or the 2 inch level kit. Anyone have the 2" level kit? Is it worth it? Should i just spend the extra money and get the 6". I will most likely get the Pro comp kit, with pro comp xtreme AT's. Any advice?

pro comp lift

the leveling kit is easy but it might make the truck look as good as with the 6" lift.

The leveling kits are good. But bigger is always better.

I would go with a 6" fabtech lift. I have an 04 F-150 Screw as well and I just got the 6" lift and 35" BFG tires and Pro Comp wheels. You cant go wrong.

spend the money for the 6 inch FABTECH!
FABTECH is the way to go....especially if your spending that much money on a 6 inch lift.....best one out there....or rancho which TRULY gives 5.5" of lift.....not 4

Awesome...i will probably just get the 6" lift. i agree with fabtech being the best, i thought maybe pro comp was second best so i was going to go with that cuz it's cheaper, also i have to get tires and new wheels at the same time. i went to 4 wheel parts to price some stuff out and i was already at 5 grand. thanks for the advice.

Well if you talk to 4WheelParts about ANYTHING they will reccomend ProComp since its THIER company. Coincidently, ProComp is garbage. I agree, go with Fabtech. They qaulity and engineering cant be beat.

Bro, If you stay w/ the ProComp lift I got the place for you to get it. I just baught: ProComp 6" 2wd lift
ProComp 35/12.5/17 Mud Terrain Tires
ProComp alloys series 7089 17x9
(http://www.procomptires.com/series7089.htm)
Tires mounted & balanced, free shipping, no sales tax (out of state) for...
$2660.00
No body else can touch that price. I got the deal by getting it all from same place. SportzTrailers.com
I'm puting on the lift myself next Saturday. i'll let you know how it goes.

Seems like everybody on here prefers the Fabtech lift but I have yet to find anyone who has the lift on their truck and has a single complaint. You try to put together a package like the one above and I gurantee you it will be at least $500.00 more.

And that 500 would be well spent. I dare you to compare ProCrap parts with Fabtech parts without kicking yourself in the *** for buying ProCrap. Not gunna happen.

Let me rephrase. Since we are talking two wheel drive I am assuming there wont be alot of hard wheeling goin on here. Which means that you wont be putting strain on the lift components. Therefore, ProCrap is great for the streetable mall crawler, but offroad spending the extra money now will save you alot of time and more money in the future.

who says you cant wheel a 2WD hard. look at baja and pre-runners. also fabtech started off building lift kits for only 2WD trucks back in the 80s and was/still is the best for your money. their main headquarters is in the desert great for testing. as industrys demands rose higher for lifted 4x4s so did thir supply.

As far as recommending where to buy your stuff... I bought my stuff at 4wheelonline.com - just because they had some stuff I wanted that fourwheelparts.com didnt. Now as far as 4wheelparts.com goes, they own 4wheelonline.com - Also 4wheelparts.com will beat/match the price of anybody else. A word of advice if you decide go with fabtech, dont order it from 4wheelonline.com - Thats where I ordered mine, and one of my rear lift blocks was missing. I called fabtech and they said they were having TONS of problems with missing parts from 4wheelonline.com and that they would probably stop selling to them for that reason. Although fabtech did overnight me part after I took pictures showing the conditon of the box that the parts arrived in.

Just installed the King set up front and rear. Costly, but quality abounds. Working on a few small bugs, but overall, one hell of a kit.
