6" Lift with 285/70R17 tires?

Hey guys,

I am installing a fabtech 6" lift on my 04 F-150 2wd 4.6L V8 thursday. I am still undecided. I really like the BFGoodrich AT KO tires. My question is, Do you guys think 285/70R17 tires will look too small for this setup? I am also using Pro Comp Xtreme Alloy 17x9 wheels. I do understand that 285/70R17 tires are 33" tires, but would 33x12.5R17 AT tires look better?

Also, I dont want to go with 35" tires because I dont want to have to regear and regearing seems to be the general suggestion for 35" tires and the 4.6L V8.

Thanks,
Paul

I think they would look fine, especiall on the 9 inch wide wheels. Another option would be to go to a wider 33 inch tire, like a 33x12.50-17 or a 325/60-18 (33x13.00).

Thanks, I've already cancelled my order of the 285/70R17 BFG tires and I have talked myself into going with 315/70R17 tires on 17x9 wheels. I have the 4.6L V8 but I am going to try it for a couple of weeks without regearing and see if I can stand it.

Thanks,
Paul

Hey, at least if you have to regear, you only have to do one differential.

madax, you might want to check your local hummer dealer for the 315-70-17 BFG Hummer takeoffs, they have alot of them brand new for $150 apiece. how much did you pay for the procomp xtreme alloys?

New Lift

I just got my lift put on, and I think that 35's look good under it, but a 33 would look good to.

Lower Valance.

I am in the military stationed overseas, so I have my brother doing the lift on my pickup, but at the time he took the pics, he was cutting the hole's for the bull bar. He just does not have it on yet.

Fender Flares

TX150- How much did your fender flares cost, and were did you pick them up. All of the ones online that I have seen do not look as aggressive as the ones you have.
