Rancho on new fords
Rancho on new fords
Was at the Ford dealer yesterday and noticed a few 05and 06 150's and 250's with factory rancho suspension. After a closer look these shocks are stamped motorcraft. Does anybody have a clue what the deal is are these rancho suspension and if they are what series of chock or is this motorcraft dressed up as a rancho? Just curious thinking of buying a new 150 but dont want to pay extra money for the rancho stuff if its junk ?
They are rancho but made to fords specifications ie. they are not as good as rancho. My cobra has bilsteins on but they are from the factory not as good as aftermarket bilsteins. Are they still bettter than the black oem yes by how much I have no idea. I believe they come with the fx4 package so if you want that package just deal with them.I dont know how much the FX4 package is but you can buy 4 rancho 5000 for 150 including shipping. I beleive that the FX4 package is just the shocks and beefier tires and skid plates. I would buy the regular truck put on the Ranchos myself and get new tires and wheels but thats me I never keep the stock wheels and tires. If you are not going off road with this vehicle and I doubt you are the Lariat is the same price with a lot more stuff like leather heated seats etc. I would compare the Lariat and the FX4 and see what best suits our life style.
Right. The shocks are made to Ford's specs so they are different than RSX's, RS5000's, etc. They are made by the same company that makes Motocraft, Rancho and other brands (Tenneco Automotive I believe). They are Rancho, shocks, just different than aftermarket Rancho's. Same deal with the Bilstiens on GM trucks.
