shocks shot, Yippee!!!

hi guys,

after 5 yrs, my stock shocks are shot. my pleasure stems from the coming update.

the Boss wont object to replacing dead shocks(but upgrading without reason
was not an option).

so, my gut reaction is to go with rancho shocks, but?!

i want my rig to be desert tough even for each of its daily driver days.
anyone have a better suggestion for this need?

thx in advance to replies, jackc...

Congrats on the shot shocks!

I have Monroe Reflex shocks and love them. They will give you a stiff ride but with a lot of control.

are the monroe's tough enough for offroad abuse?

several now have mentioned the monroe option.

i tend to think of them and bilstein as performance road options,
but what are their offroad stripes?

thx to all that have replied, ...

You could always go with the Rancho RS9000's, I think they would be a good fit for you.

I just replaced mine they were also shot. I went with the Rancho RSX and so far I am very happy with my choice plus I got a great deal at 4wheel parts. You will notice the difference.

Keep in mind that the Rancho RSK is just a re-badged Monroe Reflex, and the Rancho RS5000 is a re-badged Monroe Sensa-Trac. I've got the RSXs on both my vehicles (98 Explorer and '00 F-150). They're a great ride in both vehicles, critically damped, well-engineered. Too bad they can't coat them well enough to keep 'em from rusting.... looks horrible on a white shock, but barely noticable on a black one.

I never knew that, but it makes sense since they are valved about the same. Seems like you pay for the Rancho name at some places. Thanks.
