Question For Bigtruck Or Anyone Else??

Hey maybe you guys can help. Ok, so a while back I installed a 6inch Fabtech lift and put 35inch. mickey thompson baja claw radials on my truck. i love my truck, looks much better than it does stock, but I want it HIGHER. Not that much higher, but just a little. The problem is I have a few buddies with powerstrokes, hemi's, and GMC's all with 6 inch lifts, but they are all higher. I do know that mine is only an F-150 and that is mainly the reason why. My one buddy has a F-350 with a leveling kit and 35's and he's just as high.

I installed the suspension lift myself, but don't really feel like putting on a body lift. So here is what I would like to do and feel free to agree or correct me if I'm wrong. I have plenty of room to crank up the torsion bars to get at least another inch without going to far(it's almost like the lift blocks were too small for the back to keep it level with the front). Where can I buy bigger lift blocks and brackets for the rear???? I would like to crank up the front another inch and if I have 4 inch blocks now, I would like to try and find 5 inch blocks. Do you know where and do you see any problems with doing this???

I wouldnt go any bigger than 4" blocks. You can swap out the rear leafs for 250 leafs. From what I am told, it gives about 3" of lift on these trucks. Sorry I can't help ya more than that. I don't know about the front suspension of the 4wd trucks.

yeah, I just checked, the blocks are 4 inches. Anyone else, can I go bigger and still be ok, maybe 5 inch blocks??? What about add-leafs. How hard to install, where to buy, how much??? Remember, I only want another 1 inch or 1 1/2 inches. I know its not much higher, but I think it would look better. And I almost forgot. How far up can I crank the torsion bars??? I problem don't want to crank them all the way up do I??

Thanks

I have a 6" block in the rear of my truck. Mine is a 2WD however, the kit came with 4" blocks but the front would sit higher then the rear so I had them put in 6" blocks in the rear to level it out. I was concerened about axle wrap with that high of a block in the rear so I installed rear traction bars to stiffin everything up. There is some pics of the blocks and traction bars in my gallery.

most only about 2". They are easy to install. If you can install a block, you can install an AAL.

Well, I found an add a leaf kit, but it says it lifts it approx. 2 - 3 inches. The only problem with that is I am not sure if I will be able to get that much more lift out of the fron to match the rear. HELP?????

Only thing with cranking the torsion bars and have big tires, is they wear stuff out on the front end twice as fast. If you 4x4 or anything, you will be doing ball jounts and wheel bearings with in 20k of cranking it up all the way. If u want bigger, eather put in a body lift, or buy a bigger suspension kit. With a 6" susp and a body lift u can run 37" tires. But then you would need to spend money on lower gearing and maybe a super charger to get some power out of it. If you go to high in the back with blocks, you will have bad axel wrap with in like 6 months or so cause the leafs will weaken with the added leverage on them.
