Lightning Suspension On a '98 Ext.Cab

Okay, so I want to very mildly lower my truck and someone suggested to get Lightning suspension. I have a '98 Ext. Cab Flairside 2wd. I found a member on this sites classifieds selling a bunch of svt suspension parts. My question is a) Do I need anything else besides what he is selling me? and b) How much will this lower the stance of my truck? Frt/Rear?

This is what he's selling... 1)Svt Lower Control arms 2)Svt coils 3)two pair of stock leaf hangers 4)stock shackles 5)sway bar linkages for front.

So thats it, Please give any input on this. Thanks...
Marc

what engine do you have? 4.2l, 4.6l or 5.4l? what year are the leaf springs? 03/04 svt L's sit higher in the rear than the previous years.

front coils should lower it about an inch. but i think if you have a v6 or something the weight woudlnt help it so it may not lower it any at all but if its a 5.4l then its fine.

You shoudlnt need the control arms. they should be the same as yours but ill let someone else answer that one.

Yea i am the one selling those part, (all still available)
The coil's and control arms would lower your front 1-1 1/2"

You would still need something for the rear, the stock lightning shackles are the same size as the "reg" f150

So you could just buy a 2 or 3" shackle, and be done with your lowering.

Thats what ive been told. I cant say how accurate the information is, but if you compare these pictures of SVT coils, and Reg f150 coils, there are no visual differences, which make me lean to say the lower control arm is where the drop is acheived.

SVT coil on left, regular coil on the right.

i know some guys that put the svt coils and it lowered there truck in front about a half inch maybe a full inch... if they are exactly the same size that would lead me to believe its the compression of the springs more so than it is the length (when it comes to the svt vs reg f150)
