Leveling Kit Questions

Hello, Im sure this question has been brought up many times before, but Im new to the forum and just purchased a 2005 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4. The truck sits down a little lower in the front and I was looking to buy a leveling kit. The one I found is 2.5inches and its like a spacer that directly bolts on.

Question: This new truck drives and handles unbelievably, almost like a car. I really do not want to mess any of that up. If I put this leveling kit on my truck will it effect the handling, steering, and driving of my truck??? If anyone has a leveling kit or knows anything about it. Please give me all of the information you can.

Thank You

Welcome to the site! There are a ton of post on this in the 04-06 section. Try reading through them. Most owners are happy with their leveling kits.

I just put the Autospring 2.5" kit on my 05 Screw 4x4 and have not noticed any difference in handling or ride. Unless you are going to try and run 35" tires like I am, I would suggest only the 2" kit. With the larger lift, measured it sits level with the back but at times looks like it is nose high. Because I pull a 20' boat during the summer months, I am adding a Skyjacker 1.5" add a leaf tomorrow to try and offset the low rear end.
It might just be my truck too, I've seen allot of pics where the guys are perfectly happy with the 2.5".

Good Luck and welcome to the forum.

I have the 2 inch Auto Spring leveling kit and I have not noticed any change in feel. I do agree with the above post about not getting the 2 1/2 inch kit. I put 285/70/17 BFG AT KO's and it has a great look to it. check out the pics...

I got the 1 5/8" Autosprings. They raised the front of my 05 regular cab 2". Sits about perfectly level. The ride was not affected at all. I feel like it sits better while positioned in the driver's seat. Feels like more front end ahead of me seeing more of the hood as I drive. Make sure you buy the newer redesigned kits. There were a lot of problems with the old design. I haven't heard of any problems with the newer kits.

If yours measured 1 5/8" high, you got the 2 1/2" lift. The 2" kit measures 1 1/2" high.

Just picked up my truck from the shop after the 1.5" rear add a leaf install. Looks great and the ride is the same as before. Just a slight rake now which should off set the sag with a boat hooked on.

This is a great site for getting the right info and doing the right mods. Too bad it's killing my budget !!

I got a 2" increase in the measurement between the ground and the bottom of my front bumper.

These are sold on eBay for a $100.00 a pair. This is the link. There is a website for this product, but I do not remember the address. You can do a search and find the address in this forum.
