Bilsteins... Not as expected?
Bilsteins... Not as expected?
I have an 02 Screw 4X4 ---- I had the factory "fake" Ranchos on it for 45,000 miles...... Decided it was time for an upgrade..... Went with 4 Bilstein shocks.....Had them installed by a local shop thursday.....
My old stock Rachos were rough handling...... The ride with the new bilsteins is still rough.....Now... It "handles" much better with the Bils, but the ride is a lot rougher than expected.... I guess there isn't any adjustments on these Bils.?
For summary --- Bils. handle very well.... Minimal rolling.... Happy here;
Ride cushioning = rough.... Kind of reminds me of the stock Rachos.... Well, not that bad.... But not as expected.....
Any thoughts?

I had the factory Bilsteins on my Lightnings. The feel firm and confident, but they seem to soften up a bit. I installed Rancho RS9000s on my 2000 F-150 and prefer their adjustability. Soft, firm, towing, handling; it's easy to find what suits each person.
