Stock Shocks S-Crew? Replacements?

I have an 02 Screw ready for 4 new shocks......I've got some questions:

1.) What kind of shocks came with my stock 02 Screw 4X4? Rancho; Motorcraft; etc?

2.) What would be a very good replacement for the 4? I do NO off roading and only highway & street driving.....

3.) I would buy the shocks and have a mechanic install them.... What can I look at paying for just installation of the 4 shocks?
Thanks for the help

Hello timmyjimmy5150,

I have had the following shocks on either of the 2 F-150's I have had. Maybe this will help, listed in order of price from lowest to highest. I had to replace the MX-6's because the dust covers filled with water and rust them up quite a bit, so whatever you get toss the dust covers. They can be a pain to install in the back, I would have someone else do it unless you like a good challenge, I paid $60 to install all 4.

1. Rancho RS5000 - (Good economical shock, on the firm side of medium.)

2. Trailmaster SSV - (Better than the Rancho's, on the firm side of medium, but started rusting all over after 6 months.)

3. Bilstein - (Top of the line monotube gas pressure shocks. BUT!, I had 2 go bad, started leaking oil, in the first 6 months, one right out of the box, another the first time I drove off road and lost all confidence in them.)

4. Pro Comp MX-6 Shocks - (Excellent all around heavy duty shock, will go from soft to very stiff, 6-way externally adjustable shock, these where the best shocks in my opinion.)

5. Rancho RS9000X - (Excellent all around heavy duty shock, will go from soft to very stiff, 9-way externally adjustable shock, a little on the stiff side.)

Thanks for the great reply....
Here's my situation...... I never go off-road... I only do highway & city street driving..... So --- What would be the best shock for this situation.....
I probably don't need the 6 way adjustable or 9 way adjustable shocks because I just need an improvement over stock that gives a smooth ride.

If you never go offroad I would just get some Bilsteins.
