simple question not so simple answers
I was wondering if it would be possible to swap an f-250 suspension into an f-150 for more payload capacity? I know I should have just bought an f-250, but that isn't an option. My question is if I could find an f-250 in a junk yard would it be possible to swap out the suspension, and front and rear diff?
If you found a F150 7700, all that stuff should bolt right up. If your talking the suspension from a Superduty, then no, I dont think you could get that to fit w/o major modification. A light duty F250 should bolt right up too.
Ditto. The 7700 lb parts should bolt right up. You will also need the 7-lug wheels off it as well. In addition to the rear axle, I woud replace the front hubs, brakes, and torsion bars as well.

You could probably still get away with the original torsion bars anyways. Unless you're looking at mounting a plow, it'll probably be fine.

I've seen quite a few of the SuperCrew guys run the 7700lb torsion bars by simply moving their crossmembers back (the frame already has the proper holes in it for this).
Searching the archives will bring up numerous confirmations, so does all of Ford's literature.
