Suspension Lift Instead?

I was going to get a body lift but I am wanting to get a suspension lift now. What is the best 6" suspension lift brand? What size tires should I run with it? Also what parts do I need, they ask if you need this part or a steering stabilizer and stuff, I dont know anything about suspension lifts so please tell me what parts are nessesary for the lift. Also where is a good place to find the lift for cheap? What gear ratio should I run? And how much should it cost to get the lift and get it installed? I always thought that suspension lifts came with the shocks? Why does it ask you if you need them for an extra fee, do you have to buy new shocks? I bought new rancho shocks a while back but they are not for a lift, would they work? Do I need to buy a new steering stabalizer if I get a lift?

two of the best 6" lifts for your truck would either be fabtech or RCD. for the cheapest would be the one made by springtech. go to the website posted at the bottom. you can run 35's with them. a steering stabilizer will improve steering & handling and reduces steering shimmy. so its a good idead to get one but you don't have too. you current shocks would not work. all the 3 of the lifts i mentioned come with shocks. for gears i would recommend 4.30:1 or 4.56:1 for a little more acceleration.

scroll down til you see 6.5/4. there is two one for v6's and one for v8's

hope this helps you.

Thanks for the link, I think I am going to go with a body lift because it will cost less and you have to do so much other stuff after you get the lift and tires, like steering stabalizer,regear and all that extra stuff. I am going to go with a 3" body lift and 35" tires.

just becuase you are going with a body lift doesnt mean you dont need a steering stabilizer or to regear, it all depends on your tire size, with 35" tires you are afecting your final drive ratio, it would be the same thing if you went with a 6" lift and 35", the tire size not the lift method determines the amount the final drive ratio is changed or how much bump steer or steering wheel shimmy you will feel that warents the need for a steering stabilizer or to regear, just something to think about, good luck

I think that you should go with a 3" lift spindle suspension kit. It looks much better and I would think that installation wouldn't be as bad as a body lift.

By the way, is that picture on ur gallery of the 4x4 decal off of my truck?
I also live in Portland next to the new T.M. Clark.

they don't make a 3" spindle lift for 4x4's thats only for the 4x2's.

The decals are like exactly the same, but that is off of my truck. How much did it cost you to get the lift and tires on your truck? I have seen your truck around, and you probably know my sister, whats your AIM s/n or email?

Nope they dont make 3" spindle lifts for 4x4. lol Its just that i thought your truck looked 2wd. Not because it didnt have a decal, it just looks lower than stock 4x4s. I thought that was my sticker cus of the reflection looked like my house.

So the necessary parts for a 6" suspension lift is:
6" lift=$1800
35" tires=$1200
Regear=$1000
Stabalizer=$70

Am I missing anything that you need to have a reliable truck with a 6" lift? Also are those prices about estimated right? Does anyone know any cheaper places for any of those items? Most of those item prices are without labor.
