Alignment Problems

I just put a 6" fabtech lift on my 2000 F-150, I took it to get aligned and they told me it was towed out. They towed it in as far as it would go but its still about 2 inches off, they said I needed shorter tie rod ends. I was wondering if any one else had this problem.

I have not heard of anyone here having any problems that you mention. I have read and noticed that it seems that the issues that always arise are due to POOR installation. These kits were specifically made for the truck to prevent the problems you are talking about. The only issue I have heard(and not much of) is the front driveshaft vibrations when in 4hi. That's about it. Maybe you could get a second opinion about the installation even if it costs a little more, it's better to have piece of mind than something wrong with your steering that could hurt or kill someone while driving. Hope everything is resolved for you. Good luck

If you read the installation instructions, they state that the tie rod ends need to be shortened to allow proper alignment.

yes sometimes the tierod ends need to be shortened by about an inch on each side, all you have to do is remove one tie rod end on each side and use a chop saw to cut an inch off, the chop saw i use doesnt even messs up the threads so you can just screw it on, if it wont go on try using a file to clean the threads, good luck

Thanks for all of the info. I needed the lift installed overnight so I didn’t do it myself to know the Tie rod ends needed cut. They didn’t do a few things correctly I know I wont take my truck back there again.
