Does anyone know anyting about the RS9000X's? Are they any good? From what i know they are i mean i know my share of car/truck parts and modifications but jsut want some facts and opinions. And on top of that, is adding the In-Cab Controller a good idea? I havent heard anyting of it as far as is it worth the money and does it work well.

 

The Rancho 9000's for the front of the 04-up F150's are height adjustable, I believe they have 2.5 inch range. As far as the in cab controller, I've heard they have a tendency to leak at the fittings on the shock itself.

Lots of great shocks out there to pick from. I running rancho's 9000X on my 02 Screw (2WD). They ride and work great about 30k on them. I don't have the In-cab controller. It's easy and take very little time to change setting. I would by them again. Hope this helps.

 

I've recently installed the Rancho 9000 shocks and so far so good. The quality of the ride/handling of the truck is much better now compared to the stock shocks. I decided not to install the in-cab controller. IMO the shocks are easy enough to adjust manually.

 

SC 05FXF did you put the Ranchos on yourself or did you have them put on? If you put them on was it hard to do? Can I do it in my driveway with basic handtools and my shadetree mechanic skills? Thanks for your input.

 

Yes, I installed them myself assisted by a buddy of mine from work (a fleet mechanic) at his house. We did them at his place 'cause he had a nice set of spring compressors and air tools. Obviously you're going to need spring compressors to do the job but air tools aren't necesary, but makes the job a whole lot easier and faster. The job wasn't hard to do at all and your shadetree mechanic skills should be fine. However, I do recomend a helper and air tools. :santa:
