horrible shake, PLEASE HELP!!!
my truck had the same shaking problem but i just found out that it was my 8th cylinder misfiring im not sure if it really is ur suspension or tires i changed my plug and plug boot and it was fixed try that and if that doesnt work id take it to get it checked out good luck
thanks everyone for the input it is greatly needed. ok so i have found out new things that i didnt know before. everytime i go over a speed bump my front passenger side suspension makes a clunking noise and i bounce going down the road also my steering wheel shakes all the time and my steering wheel is no longer in the stock position(9&3) it has moved to where the center of the steering wheel is crooked(7&1) any ideas what this could be? i was thinking maybe a balljoint. also my tires are wearing uneven like it is cambered in the front. the inner tread is less than the outer tread probably by 1/8" any idea what that could be? do you think an alignment shop would be able to help me? most shops around here have no idea so that is why i am asking so many questions
Sounds like tierod or balljoints, or both. Maybe the drag/center link even. If it is truly that bad I would recommend rebuilding the whole front end at one time. If you replace one part, the others continue to wear and you'll be in the shop several times trying to iron it out. I rebuilt my front end over a week or two, and was amazed at how bad it really was. It drives better than when I bought it with 24k on the odometer. My lower balljoints had at least a 1/4' of play on both sides. I will say that it was one of the easier front end rebuilds I've done, if you feel like attempting the work yourself. Pretty straightforward design. Get the tierod adjustment as close to the removed parts as you can, then drive it down to a shop for an alignment.,,,,98
